Regular maintenance of your oral health is an integral part of overall health and wellness. Cleanings and regular exams can help you stay on top of any small issues that arise before they become bigger issues.
- Dental Cleanings– We recommend getting your teeth professionally cleaned twice a year.
- Sealants – For teeth that have deeper grooves, but are currently free from decay, sealants are a great way to protect your teeth from getting cavities. Sealants are a tooth colored material that is applied to the grooves to “seal” the grooves from decay. They are a painless procedure as you do not need to be numb!
- Scaling and root planing – If periodontal disease is diagnosed, the traditional “dental cleanings” are no longer sufficient to remove the plaque and tarter from below the gum line in the space between the gum and the jaw bone. Scaling and root planing is the process of cleaning the surfaces above AND below the gums (root surfaces) where our normal toothbrushes and floss are unable to reach.
